Welcome to part 2 of my Hosting a Boho Chic Party article published in Society Magazine! Today I’ll be showing you How to Decorate a Boho Chic Party Table to create an absolutely stunning final result, whether it’s for a birthday, wedding or any kind of event. It may come as no surprise that I find decorating to be one of my favourite parts of planning a party! If you missed Part 1 all about Planning a Bohemian Party, you can read it here!

The whole idea started because I really wanted to unite my friends and family to take in the beauty of the season in a magical setting, and what better excuse than on my 30th Birthday! With that in mind, I started to plan a Boho Chic party at home that would convey the feeling of barefoot luxury. I knew that the table was going to be one of the areas we were going to spend the most time around, so I really wanted it to take centre stage! I trusted Cecilia Correnggia and her team to help me find all of the decor items for the party and turn into reality the idea I had in mind. Keep reading to find out the decor elements we used to create this beautiful Boho Chic table setting!

1. LAYERED FABRICS
I chose a white floor length tablecloth to act as a blank canvas to work from, as layering colourful elements would contrast beautifully against it and really create a curated look. I knew that I wanted the colour palette to be in hues of blush and nudes, so we added a long rose toned crêpe runner to accentuate the length of the table and it could act as the centre point where the main decoration was to be placed! The table runner also complemented perfectly the napkins in the same blush hues, placed right under the tableware.
TIP: The splash of colour provided by table runner was exactly what was needed to bring the whole scheme together!

2. AN ECCLECTIC TABLESETTING
The next step was to create an ecclectic tablescape with the layered fabrics mixed with an assortment of dishware to get a truly bohemian laid back vibe – I didn’t want anything too formal, instead I wanted something beautifully put together but with a relaxed overall feel. I chose a mix of organic ceramic plates placed atop beautiful transparent chargers and rose gold flatware on either side to complement the blush hues. A pop of colour was incorporated with coloured water cups in a darker tone to add some contrast, combined with ribbed transparent wineglasses, to achieve a perfect balance of elegance and charm.
TIP: Mix and match your dishware and glasses freely to create the perfect eclectic look on your table.

3. WILDLY BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS
This is truly the decorative element that will really dress up any table and create that wow effect! Natural flowers are my all time favourite option, but you can opt to combine with dry flowers for that authentic bohemian vibe like we did placing them along the whole length of the table.
TIP: Remember that keeping your flowers low profile allows your guests to easily see one another across the table!

4. HANDMADE CRYSTAL CANDLES
As you might already know, candles are one of my favourite accessories to decorate any setting. Although we didn’t light them immediately at lunchtime, as the sun was setting they were lit and this truly created a magical atmosphere. The lovely team at Candles by Angelina created these stunning artisan coconut candles in different tones made with energetic crystals specially for the event which we placed along different areas of the table! TIP: Mix and match candles of different heights and styles to create an ecclectic bohemian feel!

5. DESIGN A CUSTOM MENU
Designing a custom menu is a great way to add a personal touch, especially if you have incorporated any special dishes at your event! I had the pleasure of including some of my favourite appetizers like oysters with mango ceviche, homemade guacamole with nachos, as well as a selection of delicious Andalusian cheeses. On this occasion, I designed the menu having in mind the general feeling I wanted to create, so I chose a beautiful and casual caligraphic style font for the headers, and a more elegant structured font for the descriptions – I used Adobe Photoshop to design them, but another great tool that I love using is Canva, especially if you want to design something easy and quick!
Another point to have in mind is if you would like to have free or designated seating. I opted for having designated seats for my guests, so I also created custom name tags in the same caligraphic style font – I absolutely loved the flower and ribbon details that were created for these name tags!
TIP: Attach the name tag to a ribbon and wrap the ribbon around, for instance, the silverware at each place setting. This way you will ensure that they stay in place, especially for breezier days!

And voilá – you’re ready to sit back and admire the beauty of your Boho Chic Table Setting!
And remember, as wonderful as it is to create a beautiful setting for your guests, don’t worry if, after the meal is over, the napkins aren’t perfect or there are some food stains on the tablecloth – I think that’s exactly what the boho style is all about, embracing the beauty of the imperfect and enjoying things that are lived in… What your guests will remember is the experience they had in your party, so make sure that your focus is on being present, going with the flow and spending quality time with your loved ones!

Happy Partying my friends!
